Due to unavailability of the Chesterton sport centre during exam period, our training schedule is changed for the next few weeks.

Wednesday trainings are cancelled for both juniors and adults on 15.5, 22.5, 5.6, 12.6. and 19.6 and back to normal afterwards from the 26th onwards. Players who usually attend Wednesday are encouraged to attend Monday trainings in Trumpington instead (6.30-8pm for juniors, or 8-10pm for adults). There is no junior training on the 29.5 due to half term break, but there is adult training in Chesterton on that date!

Thursday trainings are moved to Trumpington for all the unavailable weeks, i.e. 16.5, 23.5, 6.6, 13.6 and 20.6; we are training in Chesterton on the 30th of May. These are all between 8-10pm irrespective of the venue.


We train at:

Junior Training

NOTE, there is no junior training during the school holidays.

We have Junior training sessions on Wednesdays 6 – 7pm in Chesterton for U16 players.
This training is for 11-16 year olds, both boys and girls. No previous experience is necessary.

Fees are termly – £30 if only attending Wednesday, or £63 for both Monday and Wednesday per term. First 2 sessions free to try!


We also have a Junior session on Mondays, 6.30-8 pm in Trumpington for U19 players.

This training is for 13-19 year olds (born 2000 or after), both boys and girls. No previous experience is necessary.

Fees are £45 per term or £63 if also attending Wednesday trainings. First two trainings are free so come and give it a go!

Adult training

There are currently 3 adult training sessions, Monday 8-10pm in Trumpington and Wednesday 7-8pm and Thursday 8-10pm in Chesterton. To attend these session you have to be over 16 and they are open to both male and female players. Please get in touch if you plan to attend any of the sessions.

The Monday training is our main training session for all members. You should have at least a basic understanding of handball to attend these and able to follow the drills. Once you are comfortable with rules in terms of steps, passing, defence, etc., you should be able to join in the sessions. Depending on numbers, we are planning to split male/female players in separate halves, so you can train against your own gender group and improve your skills. Less experienced players are welcome to attend these sessions, as long as you are not intimidated by being mixed in with more experienced players. Part of the training focusses on the interplay between players, doing drills for all aspects of the game: attacking, defending, passing, fast-break, goal-keeping/shooting etc. There is usually time for a 30-40min game in the end of each session, and the aim is to provide everyone a good amount of court time to play and to take their handball-ing skills to the next level. Overall, we hope this sessions combines a good workout with lots of handball fun.

The Wednesday training is our development session. This means that while experienced players can also attend, it is suitable for complete beginners, too. In these session we aim to focus mostly on development, i.e.  to train basic personal skills such as shooting and movement in attack/defence etc. Everyone is welcome to join these sessions, regardless of their experience level.  There will generally be around 10-15min warm-up, 35min exercises/shooting/passing and a 10min practise match each week, allowing everyone to play in different positions and to try to improve their overall game. If you haven’t played before or have been away from the game for a while, this is the place to start!

The Thursday training is our team training session. Only players registered to play in the men’s or women’s teams attend this session and this is a serious training. It focusses on the need of the teams, practising interplay between the players as required for the matches. We are going to do exercises aimed to improve our game-day performances, which means players are expected to practise their positions and work hard on themselves. Be here if you are playing matches for us, but NOT if you are not registered with us yet.


Adult training fees:

First training free!

Per calendar month:
1h/week (Wednesday only): £15
2h/week (Thursday or Mondays): £25
3h/week (Wednesday + Thursday OR Monday): £35
4h-5h/week: £45

Yearly (covering September-August): 

£300 for up to 3h training per week (= 1x 2h training + Wednesday training)
£350 for all trainings including your registration and playing kit. If you are not paying yearly, you will have to separately pay £30 for registration with EHA + £20 for your own kit to be able to play matches with us.

Payment is either cash at training or can be transferred to the club account.
