Away match against Manchester coming up

Last weekend saw Cambridge HC’s Super8 team return to league action, but unfortunately the team couldn’t repeat the success of last weekend’s cup match and lost out against London GD. Despite a good start to the match with an early lead of Cambridge, which forced London GD to take a time out 10 minutes into the game at 5-3, the home team could not hold on to the advantage and London GD turned the match to 11-15 in their favour by half time. The Cambridge team tried to fight back once more, but undisciplined behaviour by several of our frustrated players led to unnecessary punishments, leaving the team 2 players short at times.  London GD took advantage of this foolish behaviour and came out as 20-34 winners in the end.

We will meet London GD soon again in the next round of the EHA cup and hope to perform significantly better that time!

Now it is time to turn around our season, starting to focus on our strengths again and play handball instead of argue on the pitch. Our next match is against Manchester HC as an away match on Saturday and it will be crucial to gain some much needed points in this encounter. Manchester is currently just one point above Cambridge after a surprising loss against Coventry HC  2 weeks ago and an equally unexpected draw against Leeds Hornets last weekend.
