Cambridge HC plays their first match in the EHF Challenge cup against Szekelyudvarhely

Saturday afternoon saw Cambridge HC compete the first time in the club’s history in European competition as our team took on the fully professional side of Szekelyudvarhely KC in Romania in the first leg of round 3 of the EHF Challenge Cup. The team showed a spirited performance in front of a sell out crowd of 1500 enthusiastic Szekelyudvarhely fans, but the differences in the clubs’ levels were evident as the game was lost 35-14. However, there was good handball on display from both sides, with fine saves by the keepers and good goals scored. A more detailed report will follow shortly.

The return leg is following Sunday at 6pm and the team is hoping to improve on their performance after the first match.
