1st men’s – Super8

Our 1st men’s team is playing in the National Super8 league, which is the highest league in the country. In the season 2013/2014, Cambridge finished on the 3rd place. This meant that for the first time in the club’s history, we are competed in the EHF Challenge Cup. Our opponents were the Romanian team from Szekelyudvarhely who ended up winning the Challenge cup and you can read all about our experiences here.

After finishing 7th in the 2014/2015 season, Cambridge HC is again competing in the Super 8 league at the highest level in the English competition. Our aims are to finish in the top half of the table and show more consistent performances than last season. Last year’s newcomer Coventry HC has been relegated to the Championship and NEM Hawks has joined the league to replace them, making it the 3rd team in the top league from the Manchester area in addition to champions Warrington Wolves and Manchester HC. We are again joined by last year’s 4th place Leeds Hornets who this year embark on their first ever European adventure and the three London clubs Ruislip Eagles, London GD and Olympia HC.

In 2015/2016, our team finished in 3rd place, again achieving EHF Challenge Cup qualification after a great season. We will try to play an equally successful coming season with the league including Coventry Sharks and Nottingham HC this season, replacing Leeds Hornets and Manchester HC.
